According to an article in the Victoria Daily newspaper, the year long buyer's market in BC real estate has come to an end. Sales have climbed now for 5 consequetive months. Lower prices have kept many sellers from listing and new listings are now at their lowest level in 6 years. Pent-up demand left over from last year's slowdown is expected to ease and interest rates are forecasted to rise 30 to 40 basis points by year end. "For the 1st time in more than a year there is now one sale for every two new listings, an indicator of a market where neither buyers nor sellers have a distinct advantage."
